Going Green
PVI is committed to being as eco-friendly as possible. Find out what it means to be green! With preservation of our planet's natural beauty on everyone's mind today, "Going Green" not only helps our environment but protects our future and our natural resources. It involves lifestyle changes for individuals and communities as they learn to exist in the 21st century. At the Pinnacle View Inn, we are committed to incorporating sustainable earth policies and practices in the running of our inn. We have implemented a number of policies that we believe will create a truly eco-friendly setting as possible. You will enjoy the utmost in comfort and convenience with minimal environmental impact.
- The home is a certified 5 star energy home and our use of electrical services is significantly less than other comparable places.
- All cleaning agents and chemicals used to clean guestrooms have been replaced by all natural, environmentally safe products. We use no bleach, dyes or perfumed detergents in our laundry and seek a truly effective and bio-degradable laundry soap.
- We encourage guests to keep towels and linens for up to three days in an effort to reduce water consumption. Only hand towels and wash cloths are replaced daily, unless otherwise desired by our guests.
- All new appliances purchased are energy and water-efficient models.
- Our gardens are watered with a drip system to further reduce water consumption.
- We recycle all allowable glass, paper and plastic.
- Wherever possible, we use compact fluorescent light bulbs, which use 1/3 the energy of incandescent bulbs. These compact fluorescent bulbs are then recycled. Motion detector lights are used wherever possible to eliminate the waste of all-night outdoor lighting, though path lights are still used for added safety.
- Our stationary is printed on recycled paper, using soy-based ink.
- In an effort to eliminate the waste of small plastic amenity bottles, we have placed dispensers in each bathroom which are filled with all natural soap, shower gel, lotion, shampoo and conditioner.
- Paper cups have been replaced with glass or plastic cups, and bottled water has been replaced by filtered water.
- We use only earth-friendly and non-toxic fertilizers in our gardens.
- Our goal is to become one of the first LEED certified Bed and Breakfast facilities in Kentucky.

They took all the trees
Put 'em in a tree museum
And they charged the people
A dollar and a half just to see 'em
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
Till it's gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
Hey farmer farmer
Put away the D.D.T. now
Give me spots on my apples
But leave me the birds and the bees
Please!
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
Till it's gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot
Hey farmer farmer
Put away that D.D.T. now
Give me
Spots on my apples
But leave me the birds and the bees
Please!
Don't it always seem to go
That you don't know what you've got
Till it's gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot.
